Elizabeth and Will
This is an extra special blog for more than one reason. I had the pleasure of working at Holland Bloorview in communications for the past two years and was lucky enough to do a lot of photography in my role as well. Elizabeth approached me back in the winter and asked if we could do a special session together to commemorate her wedding in all the places that held significance to her and her husband, a former client and now a technician in the Orthotics and Prosthetics department. The story was clearly one for the books: genuine and magical with a ton of heart. Want to learn more about their love story? Check out this coverage from People.com and CBC’s The National!
We started our time off photographing in Spiral Garden, a gorgeous space at the hospital designed for arts and music camps and activities, and an area where clients and families can experience nature and tranquility during their stay.
Next, we ventured to the cafeteria where E+W had their first conversation together.
One of my favourite locations was the stop sign where Will offered Elizabeth a ride home, and their friendship blossomed from there.
Of course we couldn’t forget the office where the two of them found themselves chatting together many times.
And finally, we ended our session at Will’s office space in the Orthotics and Prosthetics department where he works as a technician, surrounded by some of the equipment used to design and create prosthetic limbs for clients.
Grateful they allowed me to capture so many special moments in such a unique environment. This is the kind of work that makes my heart soar. xo
